Welcome to JaxView, a versatile and cost-effective Web services management tool for IT Operations.
JaxView is a Web portal designed to allow system administrator and general operation engineers monitor the performance and availability of their Web service enabled applications. It does this by listening to real-time messages exchanged with a Web service application or endpoint. JaxView can be configured to gather this message data in several ways including being deployed as a proxy server, the use of agent stubs, subscription to a Message Broker service, or through a network analyzer.
JaxView includes many monitor types that allow the user to gather metrics from the messages being exchanged in the SOA environment. The object model used in JaxView allows you to create monitor template definitions that can be deployed uniformly and quickly to monitor multiple service endpoints. The monitors have flexible threshold settings which when met, can trigger an event notification.
JaxView includes a number of alert types that are used as event notification actions. JaxView includes a Rule engine that gives the user more flexibility on when event actions are triggered. For example if the Monitor threshold has been met for 3 messages in a row, trigger an event action.
JaxView also includes reporting tools that allow the user to generate reports on all of the metrics gathered. There reports can then be emailed to other users.
When used as a proxy server or gateway to services, JaxView can be configured to enforce a number of run time governance policies. This includes client authentication, message modification, service routing, and service traffic metering.
JaxView was designed with the needs of development and operations groups in mind. Almost every aspect of JaxView is customizable. This includes an open API for creating your own monitor types, alert actions, and logging options.
