This view is designed for the user to be able to view status of all objects being monitored by JaxView. The interface provides hyper linked status icons that you use to display message tables for the selected context. The Console view layout and content is customizable.
You access the Console view from the main JaxView navigation menu on the top right hand corner of the interface. Click on Console to switch to the Console display.
The Console view is divided into four sub panes by default. Each sub pane is used to display the the most recent status of objects being monitored by JaxView arranged by the object context. The status icons are set according to the status of objects in that context. The following table shows the status icons used in the Console view and a description of their meaning.
| Icon | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Good | All monitors within this context report a status of good | |
| Warning | One or more monitors within this context report a status of warning | |
| Error | One or more monitors within this context report a status of error | |
| No Data | All monitors within this context have received no data or are disabled |
The sub panes can display four different contexts or groupings available in the Console view. The following table lists these contexts with a description of the content and how the status is determined.
| Context | Description |
|---|---|
| Monitors | Displays an icon for each monitor definition in the Monitors object tree. The status icon is set for all instances of the named monitor type that are deployed in JaxView. |
| Operations | Displays an icon for each Web service operation defined for Services in the Services object tree. The status icon is set for all the monitors that are assigned to that operation. |
| Services | Displays an icon for each Web service defined in the Services object tree. The status icon is set for all the monitors that are assigned to all operations for that service. |
| Transactions | Displays an icon for each Web service defined in the Transactions object tree. The status icon is set only based on the conditions and notifications for that transaction monitor instance. |
The status icon for each object displayed is also a link that you use to display a message table for the selected context. Clicking on a status icon brings up a message table display in a new browser window. For example, clicking on a status icon for a monitor definition in the Monitors sub pane displays a Monitor list showing the most recent status reported by every instance of that monitor. Clicking on a service name displays a Message List for the service showing a summary of the operation names provided by the service and a Message List of the more recent monitor results for the service.
To customize the NOC Console view click on the Config button at the top right hand corner of the Console view panel. Within the page, you can customize the 4 display panels of the Console view. You use the drop down selection menus for each of the four pane positions to select the context for that display pane. The context options are those described in the table above. If you select NONE for any panel then the other panel will span the width of the window.
