JaxView adds deep integration for IBM Websphere, MQ, IBM DataPower and IBM WSRR
Managed Methods Inc. (www.managedmethods.com ) the leader in SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) visibility and SOA runtime governance today announced the availability of their SOA management and runtime governance support for deeper visibility for applications running on IBM WebSphere ESB, MQ, WSRR and environments secured by IBM DataPower. End to end management and monitoring is crucial to the performance of a business transaction. This additional capability expands the SOA environments that JaxView supports, including a wide range of support for applications exposed by ESBs , protocols and messaging and back end-databases including IBM DB2.
“We are exceptionally pleased with this release for the support of these integration and mediation products. Our customers are using JaxView in varying ways, from agentless visibility to security and brokering, with varying environments. ” states Al Aghili Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Managed Methods Inc.
“This capability really extends our ability to provide true end to end SOA visibility and control to customers using various service buses. We have found that every environment is unique as customers build services, however the need for visibility is a priority and JaxView is a lightweight cost effective solution.”
“With this release our patent pending agent-less approach will provide visibility onto all TCP and UDP protocols on the network and our agents can provide visibility into intra-container messages that never leave the server.” states Aghili.
JaxView capabilities around IBM products are as follows
• WebSphere ESB
JaxView can provide visibility into WebSphere ESB through all three of its deployment options.
- Agent-less deployment can provide visibility by sniffing on the network traffic for services that reside on the WebSphere ESB.
- Our Agents can provide visibility and last mile security by instrumenting the WebSphere ESB
- Proxy deployment can provide security, brokering, virtualization and policy enforcement for the ESB deployed services very similar to features provided by DataPower at a fraction of the cost.
• WebSphere Application Server
JaxView support for Websphere application server is very similar to its support of the ESB as mentioned above
• WebSphere MQ
JaxView has support for visibility into JMS protocols specifically running on WebSphere MQ both through our agent instrumentation of the MQ and the agent-less approach of sniffing on the network for JMS communication.
JaxView can also monitor availability of MQ topics and queues by actively sending a synthetic JMS message to the topic/queue to make sure they are available and responding correctly • DataPower
JaxView can provide visibility into service communication for services being mediated by DataPower in an agent-less “sniffer mode”. JaxView is one of the only products on the market that can provide visiliblity into SSL encrypted network communication as long as the server side private key is available to it.
• DB2 JaxView can use DB2 database as its persistence platform to store monitored data, messages and all of its configuration.
JaxView deployed in agentless mode can monitor communication with a DB2 database by looking at the raw TCP packet.
• WebSphere Service Registry and Repository
JaxView can provide closed loop governance for WSRR. It can publish service information and policies to the registry as WS-Policy attachment. It can also query the registry for new services and rogue services. It can automatically load policies for the service from WSRR and enforce them at runtime. These policies include SLA, security, routing, virtualization and other runtime policies.
About JaxView JaxView provides architects and IT operations teams with practical, cost-effective tools for monitoring and managing standards-based (SOAP) and REST Web services. JaxView delivers agentless web services management, web services availability monitoring, and service governance. JaxView downloads and installs as a single package for ease of deployment. It is built on a thin-client, server-based application architecture that is accessed and managed using a Web browser. A fully-functional evaluation version of JaxView can be downloaded from www.managedmethods.com .
